Labor Day!!

Labor Day is the first Monday in September.  The first Labor Day was held on September 5, 1882.  The second was held on September 5, 1883, just a year later.  There has been a confusion about who started the Labor Day holiday. People have thought it was Peter McGuire, he was the general secretary of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and joiners. Other people believe that it was Matthew McGuire, who later became the secretary of the Local 344 of the International Association of Machinists in Paterson, NJ.
The first state bill was introduced to the New York legislator, but was first passed in Oregon on February 21, 1887.  Labor Day is a Nationwide holiday! You may read more here about Labor Day!
