5 Seconds of Summer

5 Seconds of Summer is my favorite band. There are four members of the band, and their names are Ashton Irwin, Michael Clifford, Luke Hemmings and Calum Hood. Theyre all from Australia, and they went to school together. At first Michael and Luke hated eachother, but then realized they got along well. Calum and Michael were best friends at the time. When the band first got together, they practiced in Michaels garage. At their first practice, not all of them showed up. But then they started getting really good, and then in 2012-13, One Direction asked them to be their opening act for their Take Me Home tour, and their Where We Are tour! The band started getting noticed, and they were growing more popular by the minute! Soon enough, 5sos was having their own tour in Australia, Rock Out With Your Socks Out.

Pangea

I think that if all the continents were smashed back together into a modern Pangea, a lot of things will be different. There would be a lot of people speaking different languages all around the world. Tourism would be a lot less expensive because if all of the continents were back together, then you dont neccisarily have to be on a plane to get anywhere, or a boat. You could travel by car or foot. Since all of the money systems are different, it would be very confusing to have people from Japan trying to buy things in the US.

Australia

The place that I want to go to the most is Australia. I want to go to Australia because it is warm, and there are beaches. I also want to go there because one of my favorite bands are from Australia. I think that living in Australia or going on vacation there would be fun because you could learn to surf, or you could swim. It would also be fun to just walk around and see all the things that are in known cities like Sydney and Melbourne. Australia just seems like a very luxorious place to be.

Grandmas House

Last weekend, I went to my grandmas house. She lives in the woods, so we decided to have a big bonfire. My aunt and two uncles and my cousins all came. We roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. Me and my cousin Brianna went on a hike together, and then we played in the woods for a little bit. While we were hiking, we saw four deer in the woods. After we were done hiking, we went back to the fire because it was cold. We all had blankets and were telling jokes. I had a lot of fun. I dont get to see my aunts and uncles and cousins very often, so I made sure we had some fun. Me and my cousin Brianna stayed the night at my grandmas, and all my other family members left. Me and Brianna went on another hike and went to our great aunts house to spend some time with her. Then my dad came to pick us up and take Brianna home. We stayed at her house for a little bit and jumped on the trampoline, and ate dinner. After we ate dinner and said goodbye, we got in the car and went home.

The Big Dish

For my first show, I will be making a super sized pizza. The pizza will be normal pepperoni. I will need to get all the same ingredients, but just more than usual. The pizza will be 4 feet across, and 4 feet in length. I will have to get 6 jars of pizza sauce, and 3 pounds of cheese. Then, i will need 5 pounds of pepperoni.

9/11

9/11 was the day that terrorists crashed palnes into the twin towers. I was not born yet so I dont know exactly what had happened. What I know is that many people lost their lives on 9/11. Many people like firefighters had lost their lives trying to save people. Every year on 9/11 we remeber the people who have lost their lives on this day, and give thanks.

Moms House

This Friday, I am going to my moms house in St. Charles. On Saturday, we will go clothes shopping, and then to Orange Leaf. And then on Sunday, we are going to go to the spray park with my little sister. On Sunday night, I go back home to my dads house for school next week. I go to my moms every other weekend, so we always do fun things to keep us busy. Sometimes she has work though, so we dont always get to do fun things.

A Cozy Cabin

"This is a nice cozy cabin in the forest," the real estate agent said, slowly walking in behind the family of 3. "There are 2 floors, and 2 bathrooms. Its a 2 bedroom, 2 bath." she added, looking at the family. Their small daughter was looking around, with big, bright eyes. "Is that a wood stove?" the man asked the agent. "Yes, it is." she said, walking over to it, with the family slowly walking behind her. "Would you like to see the kitchen?" she asked them. "Yes please," the mother had said, grabbing her daughters hand, while walking to the kitchen. You could hear their footsteps on the hard wood floors. There was a gas stove, and everything was wooden. There were many cabinets and drawers.

Summer!!!

Group of: Sunglasses, girl, beach. Perfect summer~ | We Heart It
So summer is just around the corner, and I am so ready for school to be over. This summer I'm going to have  the challenge of making it better than last year. Last year was really fun because I went to the pool a lot, watched a lot of Netflix, and read a lot of good books. This year I want to hang out with more of my friends, go to more bonfires/parties, and maybe even throw my own party. I at least want to have/go to a couple of sleepovers. Even though I don't have anything huge planned, I still think that this will be an amazing summer.

8th Grade Formal Dance

Shirley Anne Heart  Happy Family Things

Last Friday there was a semi-formal dance at the middle school that I go to. The night started with lots of laughing and compliments from everyone and to everyone because I wasn't used to seeing my classmates dress up. Lots of girls wore bright sparkly dresses, while the guys wore black pants, button downs, and suspenders. The dance went one to play lots of music including some good songs, and some not-so-good songs in my opinion. The funniest part of the night was when the song "Let It Go" from the popular movie Frozen came on. It was hilarious to see guys who knew all the words and were belting their hearts out. In conclusion it was a really fun night.

Celebrity Parents

If I could have two celebrities as parents I would choose Jennifer Lawrence as my mom. I would choose her as my mom because she has a really good sence of humor, and she would always make sure that everyone was smiling. I would choose Brendon Urie as my dad because he would sing me his punk rock songs as I fall asleep. I would also choose him because he also has a good sense of humor, but he also can be serious. Another reason why I would choose these two people is because they're both good looking people, and I would probably be more attractive if I were made from them.

How To Be A Hipster

Always Beautiful  #AcaciaBrinley #AcaciaClark #Acacia #Tumblrgirl...
Hipsters are taking over the internet. These modern day "cool kids" are slowly converting everyone into one of them. A hipster can usually be spotted if they claim something along the lines of, "I am not a hipster." For girls this usually includes a variety of wardrobes ranging from looking like a grandma without wrinkles to lots of floral prints. For guys this includes wardrobes from looking like a grandpa to lots of tie dye. Of course I'm only stereo typing, and can't include everything. This hipster usually listens to bands and artists that you probably haven't heard of. Beware of being captured in this new hipster fad.

My Addiction

vine boys?? on Pinterest

I have an addiction, not to a drug or substance, but to an app. You think you can't be addicted to an app? The definition of addiction is
the fact or condition of being addicted to a particular substance, thing, or activity. An app is a thing, and this app makes me do an activity, laugh. This app is called Vine, a format where you can easily share 6 second videos. You can do anything you want, sing, dance, tell a joke, lip sync, etc.. Because the videos are so short and concise, I can spend hours on the app, and it feels like 15 minutes. I'd have to say this is my favorite addiction.

Abe the Time Traveler

BOOMBOX ABE LINCOLN iPhone Case by abelincolnbboy
This picture is obviously something that the government has hidden up until now. You may or may not know this but time travel is an actual thing, you just can't mention it until the year 2100. Don't ask me how I know. Now I may or may not be from the future where you are able to travel back in time and meet important people, only at certain times of course. I was actually the one who took this photo. Mr. Lincoln had a passion for 90's hip hop, so I brought this back for him. Yes he was an amazing president, but you haven't lived until you've seen him breakdance.

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

The Fault In Our Stars (TFIOS): An Insightful Depiction Of Teens Living With Serious Illness ~ Pallimed: A Hospice and Palliative Medicine Blog
The Fault in Our Stars is an excellent book written by John Green. It follows a girl, Hazel Grace Lancaster, who has been diagnosed with cancer. Because of this, she was pulled out of public school. Her mom wants her to be more social, so she makes her attend a cancer support group. While at this support group, she meets this interesting guy named Augustus Waters. This book is so good that it's being made into a motion picture coming out this summer.

My Fictional Friend

The Walking Dead - Carl Grimes AMC
If I could choose any fictional character to have as a best friend, then I would choose Carl, from The Walking Dead. I would choose Carl because he's about my age and we would have similar interests to talk about. I would also choose Carl because he's really protective and would protect me from zombies if the zombie apocalypse ever occurred. I would also choose Carl because he's funny, and although the world may be ending, he still has a sense of humor. I think Carl would be an awesome friend.

Snow Day Boredom

Snow Makeup Days - Wilburn Year Round Elementary School
So you're child is complaining of boredom on a snow day? Well, I've got some tips for you. Obviously they could go outside and play in the snow and build a snowman, have a snowball fight, or attempt to build an igloo. But if they are more of the indoor type then you could tell them to memorize the alphabet backwards, it may seem simple but it occupies the time. You could have them read a book, and make a recreation of it in a skit, play, or YouTube video. Another thing you can do is to have them make crafts. There are plenty of things to do on a snow, you just have to think a little.

YouTube

deviantART: More Like Things You Can Do On A Roof 1 by TennisBall0
I'm sure by now you've heard of it. YouTube is a social media network that allows its users to view and create videos from all around the world. There are usually two types of people who use this site: pilots and passengers. The pilots are the people that make videos and usually regularly put out videos, while the passengers are the people who view the videos. It is very common that someone will be both. These pilots connect with their audiences, and form a community. Because the people in this community become close over the internet, they naturally want to meet in person. And thus the creation of YouTube gatherings. VidCon, Playlist Live, and Digifest are some of the most common.

Trip to Busch Stadium

St. Louis - News - Daily RFT
Today half of the eighth grade class is going on a field trip to tour Busch Stadium. Busch Stadium is home of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. Although I have already took the tour that Busch Stadium offers, I'm excited to go this time because I will be with my friends. I have recently asked around to the other half of the eighth grade about the field trip and the answers I received were not what I wanted to hear. "The best part is the bus ride there." claimed one student I interviewed.
"It was really boring and a lot of unnecessary walking." stated another. My hopes have decreased, but I'm still excited to get out of school.

Pride

Movie Review: Pride starring Terrence Howard, Bernie Mac, Kevin Phillips
Today in class we watched a movie called Pride. During the section of the movie that we watched today, they went to a swim meet and completely failed, got a stern talking to by the coach, and came back the next day ready to train and swim.  At the first meet, they failed in behavior, swimwear, and performance. This made me mad because most of the arguing was unnecessary and could be avoided. Since then the team has been swimming, training, and practicing. This makes me feel better because they are getting closer to their full potential. I felt embarrassed for the team at first but when they came back the next day ready to train, I felt proud and I knew that they would be champions. One of the team's coaches got permission to have a meet at the recreation building and hoped that people would actually come and support. He was surprised to see that lots of people actually came. This made me happy and surprised because now the team is on the same level as the other schools, mentally and physically, and I'm surprised because they hadn't done well at the first meet, but their families still came to support. My happiness then fades because the other team claimed to have gotten the flu on the 15 minute ride to the school. The referee didn't call it a forfeit, but the kids still swam. After that they kept on getting better and better. Soon after the coach almost drowned a man for vandalizing the recreation center where the kids swam. I don't think his actions were right, but I understand why he did it. The coach later confesses that he is putting himself on suspension, and won't be able to coach anymore. When asked who was going to coach, he responded simply that they have each other and that's all that they need. The team then went onto Nationals where they competed in a meet and won 1st place, right above their arch rivals. I loved this movie, the acting, and the message it conveys.

Parental Abuse

A lack of parenting causes bullying in Sicklerville, New Jerseys children - Philadelphia School Bullying | Examiner.com

There are many things that a parent shouldn't do to their child, but in my opinion the worst would be mentally abusing them. I think this because mental bullying stays with someone their entire life, and it would be awful if those words were coming from your own parent. Another reason why I think this is because it's just mean. Nobody should feel like an outcast in their own home. This can cause many things such as the development of depression, anxiety, paranoia, and more. These disorders can be like a living hell for a young child. And lastly, it doesn't make any sense. If your job is to raise a child, then you're supposed to do your best at completing that task. If you're bullying your own child you're teaching them that bullying is okay.

Time Travel?

Style Icon: Janet Jackson on Pinterest
If I could travel to anywhere in space and time, I would travel to the 80's. I would travel to the 80's because it sounds like it was just loads of fun. I have naturally curly, thick, and big hair, so I would fit in pretty well. This also was a good time for music with lots of legends thriving in that time. The 80's sound like a fun decade.

Thoughts

photoset gif mine me2 danisnotonfire dan howell cringe attack i s2g if you dont make your videos 1080 im gonna scream
mermaidsanddiamonds

Today in class we were told to have a freestyle writing post. I love this because I love thinking. Although my brain can overwhelm me without my consent, most of the time my brain entertains me with the most peculiar thoughts. I never really know what I'm going to think next. One minute I will be thinking about algebra functions, and the next I will be remembering some repressed memory from fifth grade that I'd been trying to forget. Sometimes these repressed memories make me physically cringe. Which is odd for anyone around me who has no idea what I'm doing. I'll be sitting at lunch eating chicken nuggets when a wild repressed memory appears. After having a "That so Raven"-like moment of pure looking in no particular direction, I shiver and everyone thinks I'm crazy. It's quite entertaining.

The iPhonus

Harry Potter/X-Men: There's An App For That
Having this iPhonus in my pocket would change my life in many ways. I could do so many wonderfully magical things from the palm of my hand. I could easily eaves drop with the handy Extendable ear. I could go back in time and help myself out. I could be transported to places easily using the iFloo Network App. I could easily unarm any enemies using the Expelliarmus app. But overall I think the most handy app would be the Marauders Map app because I could see where I am compared to where others are around me. So if I wanted to avoid somebody, this could be easily don't through the Marauders Map app. I could also use this app if I were trying to find someone. The iPhonus would be an amazing invention.

Cyberbullying

The Village of Niles, IL - Cyberbullying

I am absolutely sure that I will not forget how rudely kids treat each other. I think adults have forgotten about this because they don't want to remember it. Almost every kid in this school has a cell phone, computer, tablet, or other means of a social outlet. Suddenly, now that the other person can't see your face, you automatically are inclined to say something that you wouldn't say face to face. I won't be able to forget this because of all the kids who have committed suicide within the past 5 years over online bullying. I think adults have forgotten this because it barely affected them whereas now it affects us everyday. I will not be able to forget this.

What Colors Are You?

writing prompts: Photo

In this color wheel I would describe myself as a field of carnation, lavender and lemon colored flowers with honeydew grass and a sky blue above. Carnation because I like to be original, poetry, and to know about myself. Lavender because I like music, magic and to dream big. Lemon because I like to look on the bright side as much as possible, to know about things even if it doesn't matter, and I like to freely express myself. Honeydew because I like to learn, be independent and to see meaning in everything. Finally, Sky because I like serenity, to understand things and people, and to be calm.

Everyone is a Millionaire

In Norway, Everyone Is A (Paper) Millionaire - Kids News Article

All Norwegians became millionaires because in 1969 they struck oil and they also export natural gas. But instead of wasting the money, the government decided to save the surplus wealth into a sovereign fund. The pension fund was established to make sure their future residents are secure. The author calls the residents "paper" millionaires because they don't actually have the money, the government has the money. I think our country doesn't have such a fund because our country is so far in debt that any extra money should go to pay back the debt.

Insane Water Slide

Kansas City's Verrückt Water Slide Is Insane (Literally)! - Kids News Article

Verrückt is and estimated 17-story tall water slide that is being built in Kansas City, Missouri. This water slide is being compared to Brazil's Insano because the company is saying that Verrückt is nearly 3 stories taller. The company is also comparing to Insano because they can confirm that Verrückt is faster than Insano's 65mph water slide. The co-owner Jeff is known as the "Wizard of Water". This is because not only did he help design Verrückt he also helped create some of the Water Park's other strange rides like the inland water surfing, uphill water coasters and endless tube rides. If given the chance, I would like to go on this ride because I want to say that I went down Verrückt. But if I was thinking logically, then I would not go down because I am afraid of heights. Although I might not ride it, I think it'll be a huge thrill for risk takers.

Tiny Windmills

These Ultra-Cute Micro Windmills May Soon Charge Your Devices - Kids News Article

I have recently read an interesting article about the possibility of having wind-powered phone chargers. In this article, the author describes how tiny windmills could create enough power to charge a cell phone. The article states that the creator, Jung-Chih Chiao, is in the process of obtaining a patent. Chiao also plans to sell these tiny windmills in packs of 100 as emergency phone chargers. We may never need to use electric chargers again.
